Poker Pro John Juanda Considers Himself One Lucky Guy

Not all people would claim that they are lucky in just about anything they venture in. But this is actually how poker professional John Juanda feels about himself. He claims that he has always been one lucky guy, not only as a poker professional but he claims that he has always been lucky ever since he was young.

Born in Indonesia on July 8, 1971, John Juanda, whose real name is Johnson Juanda, started to feel that he was successful during his high school years when he became the best athlete in his school. He was the fastest runner of his school's track team.

John Juanda may have been born and raised in Indonesia but his roots are actually Chinese. In 1990, he arrived in the United States and obtained his bachelor's degree from the Oklahoma State University. It was at the Seattle University where John Juanda obtained his Master's degree in Business Administration.

After graduation, John Juanda became a door to door salesman. He was very successful in selling Bibles. As a matter of fact, he was even honored as the best salesman of the company where he worked for. Perhaps, his claim that he is one lucky guy is probably true.

During the time that he was working as a salesman, John Juanda was also playing blackjack during his free time. He would frequently visit casinos until he became interested in trying out poker. His problem during that time was that he did not know how to play poker. He did not have the slightest idea as to how poker was played. And so, John Juanda decided to gain knowledge by purchasing a poker book, reading it until he became prepared to play at casinos. Surprisingly, the first time he played poker was successful. Since then, he has always been winning at poker events. Well, we just cannot help but believe John Juanda when he says that he becomes successful in anything that he does.

Ever since the day he became a poker professional, John Juanda's success in the poker industry cannot be stopped anymore. His success includes three World Series of Poker bracelets. This poker professional got his first bracelet in 2002 when he won a US$1,500 Triple Draw Lowball Ace to Five game that allowed him to win the cash prize of US$49,620. The second bracelet was won in 2003 when he joined a US$2,500 Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo Split event in which his cash prize totaled to US$130,200. The biggest cash prize that this poker professional received from the World Series of Poker was US$203,840. This was when he joined US$2,500 Pot Limit Omaha game, earning him his third and latest World Series of Poker bracelet.

The other poker achievements of this poker professional include being a first placer at the Professional Poker Tour event that was conducted at Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut in November 2004 and being a sixth and a second placer in two events of the Monte Carlo Millions Consolation tournament that was held in Monaco in November 2005.

Now, there is no reason for us to doubt the claim of John Juanda that he always emerges successful in all the things that he pursues.
