Robert Turner: A Well-Respected Poker Pro

When poker professionals win first prize, they are usually awarded cash prizes, bracelets, rings, or other things that will make such victories very memorable and significant. Poker professional Robert Turner may have only won one World Series of Poker bracelet and countless cash finishes ever since he started in the industry in the 1980s, but nevertheless, the most important award that he has received has always been the respect he has been earning from his colleagues in the poker industry.

On May 14, 1982, Robert Turner became a runner up in a Limit Razz event conducted during the 13th Annual World Series of Poker. It was his first victory as a participant of major poker tournaments. The amount he received from winning was worth US$16,000.

Robert Turner has always been present in World Series of Poker events. This poker professional has had countless cash finishes but his major achievement of all was when he placed first in a US$1,500 Seven Card Stud event held during the 24th Annual World Series of Poker on April 20, 1993. That was the time when he won US$103,900 and his first World Series of Poker bracelet.

But aside from such victory, Robert Turner is also known to have limitless money finishes from other poker tournaments. Aside from being an active participant of World Series of Poker events on an annual basis, he was also active in other poker events, including the California State Poker Championship, the Champion of Champions tournament, the Classic Stud Weekend tournament, the Los Angeles Poker Classic tournament, the Winnin' O the Green Tournament, the Sport of Kings tournament, the Jack Binion World Poker Open, the Orleans Open, the Tom McEvoy's Poker Spectacular tournament, the Big Poker Oktober, and many others.

The contributions of Robert Turner do not end in merely being a professional poker player. This poker professional is also recognized by the poker industry as the person who introduced the Omaha Hold'em poker game to the industry. He first introduced such game to poker professional Bill Boyd who later introduced it to the Golden Nugget Casino where the game was baptized as the Nugget Hold'em game.

The winnings of Robert Turner from poker tournaments are estimated to be over US$2,000,000 as of 2007.
